Second German Archbishop Praises Homosexual Marches

Archbishop Stefan Heße of Hamburg has expressed his support for the 'Christopher Street Day' marches, describing them as "a visible sign that every person must be respected in their dignity".
Following last week's deadly attack at the march in Berlin, Monsignor Heße told KNA on 30 July that it was important not to be intimidated by hatred and violence. He added that homosexuals deserve respect, protection and "the freedom to live openly".
More homosexual marches are set to take place in Hamburg and Bonn on Saturday.
Following the attack, Archbishop Heiner Koch of Berlin had described the march as a "joyful and moving celebration".
At those marches, participants march partially or fully nude, wearing animal masks or sadomasochistic gear, openly displaying fetish culture, or staging other sexually perverted performance.

Archdiocese Installs Cemetery Memorial for Those Who Committed Suicide to Aid Grieving Family Members

Dangerous precedent set in Chicago… Archdiocese Installs Cemetery Memorial for Those Who Committed Suicide to Aid Grieving Family Members Chicago Vicar General ‘Bishop’ Larry Sullivan presided over the dedication ceremony on June 26, 2026 Just as the state of Illinois is getting ready to implement so-called ‘medical aid in dying’ — also known as physician-assisted suicide or, euphemistically, euthanasia — the Archdiocese of Chicago is basically assuring its flock that suicide is a ticket to Heaven. Illinois’ suicide-enabling so-called ‘End of Life Options Act’ was signed by Gov. Jay Robert Pritzker on Dec. 12, 2025. It is scheduled to take legal effect on Sep. 12, 2026, pending the outcome of a lawsuit filed by disability advocates and patients to block it. Meanwhile, the ‘Roman Catholic’ Archdiocese of Chicago, still led by the insufferable ‘Cardinal’ Blase Cupich, has become the first in the nation to dedicate a memorial to victims of suicide and their loved ones at one of its …

Archbishop Sample: FSSPX Has "Become Something Else" After Episcopal Consecrations

Conservative Archbishop Alexander K. Sample of Portland, Oregon attacked in an in-house interview on Youtube.com on July 28 the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). Main quotes.
• "The FSSPX's recent consecration of bishops without a papal mandate takes the situation to a whole new level. They are now the second time bishops have been consecrated."
• "They see themselves as the faithful remnant, as though the rest of the Church is wrong and they alone are right. Folks, please don't be in that position."
• "I don't attribute any ill will to these folks. They're sincere in wanting to preserve tradition and be faithful Catholics. But they have in fact become something else now, especially in light of these recent consecrations."
• "They still mention the Pope in the Eucharistic Prayer, but it's just words. It's not a real communion. They give lip service."

Czech Bishop: "Synodality Only Possible with Novus Ordo"

Society has a thirst for transcendence, but “the old instruments have already fulfilled their purpose and no longer meet the needs of today's people". This claims Bishop Tomáš Holub, 58, of Plzeň, Czech Republic, in a lengthy article about "Synodality and the Novus Ordo Missae" on 21 July on the blog Come se non, run by the Italian theologian Andrea Grillo. Grillo is an opponent of the Roman rite and is considered an influencer of Traditionis Custodes.
According to Bishop Holub, a missionary outlook must be rooted in synodality: "Synodality is not merely a technique of communication, but a way of living the faith... The point is not to hold a synod, but to become a synod."
The Czech bishop goes on that the Novus Ordo provides the appropriate expression of the Church's synodal identity:
"The Novus Ordo makes it possible for this synodality to be applied in the liturgical sphere. Otherwise, this would be very difficult, since the Vetus Ordo is the expression of a Tridentine vision of the …Higit pa

EU Court and Poland's Constitutional Tribunal Clash Over Homosex “Marriages”

Poland's Constitutional Tribunal has ruled that homosex “marriages” performed abroad cannot be entered into the country's civil registry. Doing so would violate Article 18 of the Polish Constitution, which defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
The July 28 ruling comes after a series of conflicting legal decisions.
In November 2025, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) held that Poland must recognize homosex marriages performed in other EU member states where necessary to protect EU free movement rights.
In March, Poland's Supreme Administrative Court applied that judgment, and the government began preparing regulations to implement it.
The Constitutional Tribunal has now reached the opposite conclusion, holding that foreign marriage certificates may only be transcribed if they meet the constitutional definition of marriage.
The court said any change would require an amendment to the Constitution and legislation passed by Parliament - not administrative action. …Higit pa

Both Slaves and Slaveowners' - Leo XIV on Family History

Pope Leo XIV talked on July 29 with Tom Llamas (NBC) about his heritage and what it means to be the first pope from the US.
“First of all, just to clarify, I think of myself more as the pope who happens to be American, not to belittle what it means to be American”, Leo XIV said.
Leo XIV loves about America “the sense of freedom, the sense of opportunity, the sense of having invited for generations people from around the world to be part of America.”
Discussing his family's heritage, he said, “I come from a family where my grandparents were immigrants. On my mother’s side, we have people who were both slaves and slave owners.”
Llamas also asked when the pope will visit the United States. “In the next couple of years,” Leo answered.
The interview was Leo XIV's first interview with a US television journalist, and it aired alongside the Concert for Peace, marking the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi's death, featuring Andrea Bocelli and a 200-child interfaith choir from conflict-…Higit pa

"Leo XIV Will Not Allow the Mass in the Roman Rite" - Cardinal Roche

"Pope Leo XIV is not going to change Traditionis Custodes, and he is not going back to Summorum Pontificum", Cardinal Arthur Roche, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, told TheTablet.co.uk on July 29.
Regarding the Novus Ordo, he claimed that the Church wanted to be "more missionary": "The abundant diet of Scripture that is now given through the celebration of the Mass and the sacraments is something that wasn’t available to use before, but it is now."
He acknowledged the Novus Ordo's emphasis that "the baptised people are a priestly people" and that "they too are celebrating with the priest".

What Church History REVEALS About Leo’s …
This is called betrayal, not faithfulness to Christ.
We have been taught that the dogma of Papal Infallibility assures us that the Pope—or rather, the Papal Magisterium—is infallible and cannot err in matters of faith and morals when teaching the whole Church. Yet, both Bergoglio and Prevost have challenged Catholic morality with *Fiducia Supplicans* and *Amoris Laetitia*, and have challenged the Catholic faith by promoting the idea that Christ is not necessary for salvation and that adherents of false religions—such as Islam—and all Jews who reject their Messiah can be saved.

Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP has defended Catholics’ right to publicly oppose performances that mock their faith, arguing that artistic freedom does not justify the denigration of beliefs held sacred by millions. Source: The Catholic Weekly.
In a statement responding to controversy concerning the Divine Playhouse arts venue in Sydney’s CBD, the archbishop said freedom of speech includes not only the right to create and perform, but also “the right, and at times the responsibility, to say plainly when something is inappropriate, offensive, wrong”.
The comments come after public debate about Divine Playhouse, a temporary arts venue established in a deconsecrated former Catholic Church in Sydney.
The venue, which received a A$100,000 Create NSW grant, drew widespread criticism over promotional material and performances that incorporated Catholic imagery, including events titled “Sunday Mess” and “Unholy Confessions” and imagery depicting McDonald’s fries as the Eucharist.

“Homosexual Acts Are Particularly Detestable in God’s Sight”: Cardinal Joseph Zen, 94, of Hong Kong wrote on his blog on July 27 about the evil forces that tempt us, including the inclinations of the flesh. “Of course, ethics and morality aren't just about the Sixth and Ninth Commandments, but sins of this kind are the easiest to become addicted to. Especially those LGBTQ sins - they utterly violate the Creator's plan for humanity.” Cardinal Zen added that homosexual acts are “not only called sin in the Bible but are an Abomination (particularly detestable) in God's sight.” He also writes: “The merciful God also rained down fire to destroy Sodom.”

Cardinal Zen: ‘Protection’ of the family a ‘primary mission’ for Church today

Joseph Cardinal Zen has urged Catholics to make protecting the family a “primary mission” in pastoral work, in order to fight back against a society that has lost an understanding of the “meaning of life”. In an essay published today on his blog, Cdl. Zen offered a commentary both on scripture and on the state of the Church in the world today. Such is his regular style, linking the sacred texts to a specific message, and this latest was no exception as he dwelled on the parable of the pearl of great price.

Irish Church Shrinks: Leo XIV De Facto Merges Two Dioceses

Today, Leo XIV appointed Bishop Gerard Nash, 67, as Bishop of Ossory while he remains also Bishop of Ferns. The pope united two neighboring Irish dioceses in persona episcopi.
Under this arrangement, both dioceses retain for now their separate legal identities but are entrusted to the same bishop.
Bishop Nash has led the Diocese of Ferns since 2021 and has served as Apostolic Administrator of Ossory since January 2026. Together, the two dioceses serve less than 200,000 Catholics.
The appointment marks another step in the ongoing restructuring of the shrinking Church in Ireland. The policy of diocesan consolidation is clearly expanding beyond western Ireland
While three previous in persona episcopi unions took place within the Ecclesiastical Province of Tuam in western Ireland, the union of Ferns and Ossory is the first outside that province.
